I was banded 6/29/09. I lost 10 lbs before surgery, 5 the week following, (total 15) have been banded several times - denied banding twice (because I was sick and told I would retain fluid) and today I'm 14.5 down - meaning I'm up 1/2 pound from my lowest. anyone else had no loss?

Hey Nancy, I"ve been banded but haven't gotten my first fill yet. what does the dr say about not having the weight loss? are you eating right? because I know the band isn't a "fix all".

Have you gotten any additional fills? What is Dr. Malley saying when you go see him? You should still be seeing him once a month or so right?

I've been filled about four times. None since the end of October - not in Novemeber, because I thought I was making progress, and I was seen twice in Dec, and denied both times - first time I had the flu, next time I had a cold and they said I was retaining fluid due to illness,so they wouldn't do anything. Was supposed to go Dec 29, but I cancelled, b/c I still had a cold and didn't want to pay for another "not fill" so I go back late Jan.

Write down everything, solid or liquid, that you put into your mouth. Literally. There are some liquid options that have a lot of empty calories. It's easy to forget about them but they do add up. Also, are you getting in 8 glasses of water a day? If retention is your problem, 8 glasses might be your solution.
Write down your daily activity and how many minutes you are doing it. Skipping your walk or activity of choice once or twice may be going unnoticed. It's so easy to lose track.
These are just a couple of suggestions just to verify whether or not this is where the problem lies.
If so, you'll have a record and way of tracking in the future.
If not, maybe it's something else and now you'll have a record to show that.
Keep us posted on your findings/successes!
