Tracy "TracyinKS" and I are starting an unofficial lap band support group in Leavenworth. Anyone is welcome to attend whether you have a band or are interested in a band. And, just like Malley support group meetings, you're welcome to attend regardless of who your surgeon was or will be.

Our first meeting is planned for Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. If you're interested in attending this meeting or interested in attending in the future, please email me for more info.

Tracy has had her band for two years, and I have had mine for two months - so the range of experience and knowledge will be all inclusive.

This in no way replaces the Malley support group meetings, as Tracy and I both intend to continue attending those, but it's for additional support throughout the month and possibly more convenient for those who can't make it to the Overland Park meeting.

Just had surgery March 24 2011. I had high hopes for the forum / message boards. I am a little disappointed. It doesn't look like anyone uses them. I just had my first fill Tuesday May 3 2011. My post surgery experience was good. It's only been aboout 48 hours since my first fill but it is no fun. I ate, as instructed, SOFT FOOD, but it hurts so much going down. I can only eat one bite then I must quit. I am drinking Ensure and hot tea. Please tell me it gets better. I am wondering if this is just a phase and if an adjustment time right after a fill is normal?? We who are new to Lap Band need to communicate with you who have more experince than us. So please lend your time. HELP....
