Teresa said she would update us on her favorite protein shake brand and flavors. I'm starting my pre-op diet in about a week and would like input from anybody and everybody on what tastes pretty decent. Thanks!

So far the best one I have found that I like is Made by "Kashi". I found it at te Nature's Pantry on 40 Hwy in Independence. It has 29 grams of protein in it. I know there is chocolate and vanilla but not sure if there is any other flavors.

I have been taste testing all sorts of drinks.. I found out that I like the following

Unjury (www.unjury.com).. They came in like 2 days!

Whey Protein (Hy-vee)
all flavors

Those are the two that I love!!

I mix them with Skim milk.. If I mix with water they don't taste as good.

I will be the first to say that I AM NOT A PROTIEN SHAKE FAN!
Bleeeeeeeechhhhhhhh

The ones I can stomach are sold at Walmart by EAS (I choose Low Carb versions due to the sugar content of the other non low carb versions) The colder the better and either blended with ice or crushed ice.

What I also have a stock of are called Protien Slammers or Bullets
they are sold at GNC and the like and come in a plastic bullet shaped container and have the consistency of melted jello shots, they are 42g of protien and 0 carbs, they work in a pinch and are an easy source of a lot of protien.... again keep them in the fridge..... The guy at GNC told me that the body can really only metabolize 20 gram of protien at once unless working out so he recommended I do half at a time.... they are fruit flavored.

Kelly brought some new protein shake options to the reboot group last night. The group seemed to like them pretty well. It was a big red bottle of powder she got at Wal Mart or Target. She said it was much cheaper than GNC.
