I'm new to the Forum & I am scheduled for an upcoming Lap-Band info. seminar. Does anyone out there have any experience dealing with Humana? I have the PPO, my BMI is 42 and I've been overweight all of my adult life. I've tried numerous diets, and although I lose some weight, I plateau, get frustrated, binge & gain it all back.

I guess what I want to know is what kind of info. does the insurance company want? Will several years of medical records showing my weight 100+ lbs. over my "healthy weight", evidence of being treated for hypertension, stress incontinence and lower back & joint pain be enough??? Do I really have to be on a Dr. supervised diet for 6 months before insurance will even consider covering the cost of surgery?

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.
