Does anyone know what Blue Cross Blue Shield of KC requires for prior authorization? I know that they cover the procedure, and that you need to have a BMI of 40 or over or BMI of 35 with co-morbidites. Is the prior auth procedure difficult and do they require lots of paperwork? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

Prior authorization shouldn't be difficult if you know what is required from them and have completed all of it. Good luck to you, I have BCBS of KC as my primary insurance through my employer and I was denied- I guess my plan had an exclusion so I had to go through my secondary insurance for full approval.
