I just joined this support group and plan to come to the next meeting. I have been banded since 2003 and lost about 100lbs. Over the last few years I have had trouble with my esophagus and have had to have it stretched twice. I feel that this is because I had my band too tight and my acid reflux caused some scarring. Unfortunately...not really clear on any of it. I ended up taking all of the saline out of my band and of course started putting on weight. I now have 2cc in my band since may but not restricted enough to stop gaining weight and so far have re-gained about 30lbs. As you can imagine, this is very discouraging. I have tried to get more information on this but not much seems to be out there. I was hoping to talk to some long term bandies about any problems they may have and maybe where to go to get a handle on the problem. I did not go thru Dr Malley and although I love my surgeon..it is sometimes difficult to get questions explained.
Would love to hear some feedback.
