Doctor for diet... any suggestions? 1 Year, 10 Months ago
I spoke with my insurance company and they said I would need to do a 6 month diet w/a doctor. I would like to start the diet this month. I don't have a PCP yet, because I just started my new job and my insurance will not begin until Oct. 1st.

Can anyone recommend their doctor? I don't mind paying office visit fees, since I don't have insurance yet. I live in Raymore, but am willing to go anywhere in KC. Thanks!

My Dr. is Lisa Schnick at town plaza family practice, next to Menorah Medical Center in overland park ks, she has done this with several of her patients, is very knowledgeable and understanding!

I do not know if you have been in hospital lately. I was with a Dr. in that group. Two months ago I was hospitalized @ Menorah for dehydration due to diarreah. I found out after hospitalized that none of the Dr.s in that group do rounds on their patients in the hospital. You get whatever House Dr. that is assigned to your case. It was a total confusion...House Dr. did not follow thru on anything and because of this my Medications were never verifyed with my PCP and so I did not recieve any of my normal Medications for the entire 4 days I was there. Several of the Medications I am on are not supposed to be discontinued Cold Turkey. I did not even recieve my Blood Pressure Medication. Because of this I had to request to be released so I could get back on my medications. My blood pressure was high and I was having other Medical Problems caused by not recieving Medications I needed. Because of this I switched to a PCP outside of Menorah. I was very sad...because I really liked my PCP and had been with her for Years. Something to consider if you are going to use someone out of thid Group. I found out most of the Dr.s @ Menorah no longer care for their own patients when they are hospitalized.
