My insurance just approved my surgery. I have a co-worker that went through this last year, so I have that buddy system established. I also went to the orientation two years ago and started preparing my life changes then. I'm now ready to add this tool to assist me with the other life style changes I need to make.

I haven't seen much actvity on these boards and I'm just wondering...How do we support each other through this journey???

I would love to have more people to communicate with as I prepare and go through this part of life.

So how is it going? Have you scheduled your surgery yet? I like reading about how other people are doing too.

Well, we've been fighting with the insurance company to send an approval letter. The approved everything on April 29th and we still haven't received anything.

The insruance rep for Malley and I have both been calling the insurance company. All we get are lies that they will mail it that day.

I really annoyed because September starts a really busy time of year for me and I can't have that as my healing time. I would hate to have to put this off until after Thanksgiving.

Other than that...I'm more ready than I was when I started this journey. I ready the articles and have found some lap band podcast on itunes to listen to for suggestions on prep for the future.

I am on the 1st round of getting everything sent to the insurance company. I have BCBS - don't know if they are fast or not. You haven't posted in 2 months - did you get your surgery? How are you doing?

Hey! This isn't much activity on here to consider it support.

But I have had my surgery as of July 6th and I had my first fill on Aug 12th.

BCBS was really quick with the approval process. They received all the paper work on 4/46 and approved it by 4/29. But the hold up was their not sending the physical letter when they said they did.

I think the doctors office and I called them on a weekely basis trying to get the letter in the mail.
