Hair Loss 3 Years ago
I was banded in June. Around Oct I noticed my hair started falling out. I spoke with my cousin and she was banded and said hers thinned bad. The top of my hair has thinned quite a bit and in nov I got whey protein and hair skin and nails vitamins. It slowed but not enough. I don't like it and I am afraid it will never grow back. I noticed you can start to see my scalp. Is this going to stop? What else can I do? And will it grow back? I am very particular about my hair and would be devastated if I go almost bald. I will hide.

My hair to thinned. But I have alot of hair. Dr. Malley run blood work to make sure I was getting the proper nutrition I needed. Protein is VERY important.
Hoping it grows back soon.

I didn't have the hair loss issue, but of all the folks I have talked to that did, they said protein, protein, protein.

I have just noticed thinning through out. I have a lot of hair, but now I can see through on top. I researched it through out the web. Basically I figured out, when fat leaves it releases toxins through out the body that eventually leave. I do not know if its true or not. The surgery is a major trauma to the body inducing stress. And the lack of nutrients all caused it. I have seen many posts where people lost from 2 months out until 10 months out. But most cases it does grow back. I guess it all depends on the person. Its just stressful. I am sure it will all work out.

My hair didnt thin much, that I noticed.. But I have A Lot! when I get out of the shower and run my fingers through it I get several strands in my hand. I don't have any balding anywhere.. I think a daily childrens vitamin works too! I do the Flinstones gummy ones.. I don't like those hard ones, they are bitter!

I think Protein is the key too.. I try to get lots of protein..

Good Luck!

Re:Hair Loss 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Hi all. I had surgery a year ago and experienced the hair loss. After researching on the internet, I bought some Biotin tablets.
I take one every day and it helps with regrowth. Protein is the key. In weight loss, protien goes to the vital organs. Hair is not a vital organ (maybe not to protein but it is to me!) so hair suffers. You can also buy Biotin shampoo but didn't care for it. My hairdresser also recommended it. Walgreen's has it, not expensive at all. Hope this helps.
Thanks
