Congrats on your approvel and I hope you get a date set soon. I am not sure how long it is supposed to take to get a date but I have been approved for surgery since September 16 and I am still waiting for a date!! I beleive it is taking so long due to miscommunication with the insurance company about paperwork. I hope we can both get a date and soon!!

Hello everyone! Wanted to introduce myself as I get used to this forum. My name is Shelby and I was banded on Oct 23rd. I'll be getting my first fill on Dec. 3rd. All is going well so far, just trying to get adjusted to post op which is really tough, but doable. It's amazing how much you miss chewing! Who would have thought it would be such a big deal! But just taking it one day at a time and healing well.

Look forward to chatting in here and sharing ideas as well as successes!

Hi, another new kid on the block, I found out that my surgery is not going to be until January. I was hoping prior to Holidays but that is the way it goes. I just to this forum and wondered where did you get all this information about post surgery protien drinks and such? did you have to take more vitamins to make up for nourishment? I probably have a million questions. are these band wagon meetings informational? well just wanted to say Hi, I will appreciate all the support y'all can give. ahoy the sailor.

Hi all:

Congrats on January. I just found out I'm scheduled March 19th. It seems like it takes forever but, I'll continue to go the the nutrition classes and Bandwagon. Bandwagon will be the first time for me. This is such a neat forum for us all to chat. I also would like information on the best flavors and protein mixes.

Thanks for any imput you all can offer.

Lori

I feel your pain! My surgery was scheduled back in June, but my surgery date was the first time I could take that much time off work. It felt like forever! I'm in another message board as well and people kept joining and getting banded before me and it really stunk, but trust me your time will sneak up on you before you know it!

As far as protein shakes, everyone has different tastes, but I liked the Atkins ones. EAS also has a good one but theirs were a little more runny so it felt like I was just drinking chocolate milk. But they are good too. I've heard of people adding protein powder, but I didn't do that. I would stay away from slim fast though - lots of sugar and carbs.

For vitamins, I bought liquid centrum. Tastes a bit icky, but not terrible. But it does the trick! I've also been told it's good to buy some liquid Tylenol and have it on hand in case you need it. I'm going to get some next time I think of it.

Hope that helps! I'm new but i'll try to chime in when I can.
